Have you imagined having your own dedicated beat writer to cover every single one of your amateur league games? Pointstreak is continuing to redefine the landscape of sports statistics and analysis: Collaborating with Narrative Science, a key business partner since 2011, Pointstreak is continuing to improve its automated game recap feature, bringing mundane statistics and game analysis back to life.

As of part of it’s Fall 2013 Recap cycle, Pointstreak is taking things a step further, giving Pointstreak Sites users the option to automatically post their game recaps straight to their Pointstreak-powered website. In essence, Pointstreak’s new narrative game summaries give teams the option to artificially generate and post game recaps, enabling players, fans and enthusiasts to enjoy a pro experience, akin to the ones seen in the NHL and MLB among others.

The Belle River Canadiens’ Chris DiNatale had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing three assists in his team’s 6-2 win over the Wheatley Sharks.

DiNatale got on the board by slotting home a goal 14:04 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Belle River. Blake Jones picked up the assist. DiNatale dished an assist on Weston Gaul’s goal that made the score 2-1 Belle River at 2:39 into the second period. He then added assists on Gaul’s goal at 7:53 into the third and on Scott Chauvin’s goal at 16:05 into the third.

The win moved Belle River up 2-0 in the best of seven series.

Wheatley’s power play was ineffective against the Canadiens’ penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The referees were busy during the game, as 25 penalties were assessed during the course of the contest.

Belle River racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 12 minors and one major for 39 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 26 minutes per game the Canadiens had been spending in the box. Belle River’s penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on 12 Wheatley power plays.

Belle River also got points from Chauvin, who also finished with one goal and three assists, Gaul, who also tallied two goals and one assist, and Jones, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Nik Dobrich also scored for Belle River. In addition, Belle River received assists from Cole Chevalier and Mike Ditty, who contributed one each.

The Sharks kept the Canadiens’ goalie busy throughout the game, and Zakk Olvin made 30 saves on 32 shots. Wheatley was often in penalty trouble, as it ended with 11 minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. The leading offender was Dan Matoski, who totaled five minutes in penalty time with one major.

Belle River registered two goals on eight power play opportunities. For the Canadiens, Jordan Taylor was ejected from the game. The Sharks’ Marc Tremblay stopped 21 shots out of the 27 that he faced. For Wheatley, Matoski was ejected from the game.
